My problem is I havent riden in at least 7 years. I have had a serious back injury. So now Im up and moving; I really want to get moving. I have been to many dealers and the bike that fit me best was the CBR 1000. With the new steering stabilizer and the vamped exaust I really like the bike. Im wondering how sensitive the throttle is and if it's a rcomended purchase or should I go a little smaller.

i dunno man, with back problems, id suggest a standard to test the waters so to say. i have a healthy back and mine gets sore from a few hours of riding...

I agree..with back problems I would try something a little more sedate on the riding position.... try a 919 or a FZ-1...it is your back and get what you want. Also after so many years from riding you might be SHOCKED to find out how fast the NEW SUPERBIKES are!! I had a FZ-1 and it was awesome...

you might also consider your riding experience before that 7 yr break to determine if a liter bike is even the way to go. the throttle on the cbr seemed real touchy for about the first couple of weeks. now it doesnt feel natural to sit on my cruiser. i havent had any problems with sore back, but i am a little taller so i dont have to reach to the bars as much. my biggest complaint is the sleeping right arm. its getting better with more riding, but still a little annoyance. i guess im not going fast and tucking enough
