leaning question - 4/19/2005 10:02:33 PM    drksidr   Posts: 35 Joined: 4/10/2005 Status: offline my queation is how far can you lean the 600rr with stock tires? can you knee drag with the stock tired? my buddy told me that you can lean far enough to drag but this is coming from a guy that has wrecked 2 bikes knee dragging and another by parking it (that is a long story itself but it is funny). so anyone that can help with this question. _____________________________ 600RR got to love it!! THATS WHY THEY ARE KILLAZ.... I get down and dirty sometimes after like a mile of warmin them up, and I RAIL a turn, and im drifting the whole time and when I accelorate out, I get squidly.... But also here in Vegas, roads suck, not that many twisties, and tooooooo many cars n BS in the road. Just gotta warm those 208's up though... I hate the 208's.... Worst tire ever... They're alright -- but I got a set of BT012SS just waiting to take their place. The Pirelli's are decent once warmed up but if the temp is under 70F you gotta ride like a frikkin maniac to get them warm. _____________________________ It's better to burn out ... Than high side! Seen too many peeps get on the brakes at the wrong point and high side. My personal style is to take advantage of the excellent binders we got on these things. I late brake like a mo-fo then toss it over and throttle through the curve. If I still have too much speed into the curve I might ever so softly trail brake to wash off some speed but I'd really rather just lean than brake. It's all personal preference -- whatever you're comfy with. My buddy is an amateur racer and I can always beat him into a curve by late braking but he can often pass me on the inside when I bring in too much speed. _____________________________ It's better to burn out ... RE: leaning question - 5/1/2005 5:46:05 AM    OneWheelinRR   Posts: 364 Joined: 4/28/2005 Status: offline I brake semi early, and ride 9g's throughout the turn, and at the apex/ mid of the turn I fully accelorate drifting out of it and by the time I straighten its time to shift ;) Seems to work the best for me that way... People hate it cause I rail on them comin out lol... cause im at 9g's goin into it MUHAHAHA.... oh, plus I tend to come really close to riders to intimidate them a lil more...
