most bikes wont start without the airbox on, due to no vacuum to pull gas thru the jets..

but like i said we sprayed some ether in the carbs so that should have at least kicked it over once right?

also the leak in the fuel system is at the "t"'s going to the carbs if i put the air box back on should that sove that leak problem cuz now there is a vacume to pull the gas in instead of pushing it out?

yah.. it should've prolly fired for a few seconds.. was it running one day, and not the next, or did you buy it this way? Check compression next..

no i bought it like that, (i can give it back if i cant get it running) the bike was in a rollover during transport, has been laid down on both sides a few times each, and was taken into a wheelie too far back and came back on itself, been through hell i know.

compression is fine, i havent checked it but when i pull the plugs i can feel it fine.

the guy told me it was running fine about a year ago and then they parked it

Well it takes basically 3 things to make an engine run. Air/fuel mixute, spark, and compression. Chances are you don't have a compression problem (at least we hope not). The first thing I would make sure is that EVERY plug is firing. Not just 2 or 3 but all 4 of them. Take them all out and make sure the are not fouled and have good spark. If all your plugs are good and you spray either in the carbs it should fire no problem. Just spray a little. Don't worry about the air box being off. It will not stop it from running. If it kicks on the either then you have a fuel issue. Maybe the carbs will have to be cleaned. If I were you I would start over with the plugs and go from there. Because if everything is true that you said then the bike should kick over. Unless there is a compression problem.
