how far should the gears be riden out, i know you can get these bikes up to 160. so is it good to be doing 60 in third and just cruise that gear or should i shift to 4th or 5th. i usually ride 60mph in 5th 0r 6th, should i be winding the gears out more. i just want to know cause i dont want to screw up the gears, i just dished out 8 grand on the bike i dont want to have to fix it cause im not riding it right. thanks

60 in sixth gear is around 6000 rpm. I always cruise in sixth at that speed. There is no reason to keep the rpm up any higher than that, unless you like filling your bike with gas every ten minutes.

I would ride in 6th at anything above 45. If you need power, just drop it down a gear or two and shift back again. It allows for the least work on the engine and the best fuel economy.

I stay at around.... 5th or 6th gear when im on surface streets cruisin... but about..... 75% of my day I cruise at like 9ooo rpm's... Due to my infatuation with speed, and wheelies... I love gettin the grab on 1ooo's in higher gears right when they try to shift down lol... then they pass me but still Its a good 4-5 bike pull before they start to eat me up lol...

I cruise at 7+ for responsiveness... <- is that a word?
