Was looking at purchasing a 1987 model cbr 1000F. Seeing that it looks like this was the first year it was available, are there any flaws in this year that I need to be aware of. Just wanting general info on this bike to make an educated buying decision Thanks !!

well if itt has over 1500's miles, it will prolly need a cam chain tensionor, and i wouldn't buy anything that needs any kind of fairings, there expensive and hard to find

I agree with "Old1000". I got my '87 in '90. First thing I did was replace the tensioner...it was a no brainer. I haven't had to do much to it ever since. Just valve adjustment, and basic maintenance like drive chain, brakes, etc. I also replaced the front rotors. Awesome ride. Can't justify getting a more recent one.
