i have a vibration on my gas tank plastic, i check the bolts and they are tight, the noise is coming from in front of the fill cap in the little gully. is there something that i can do to stop the noise cause its starting to get a lil annoying. any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appriciated. thanks.

If it is coming from your gas cap, take it off clean it up, get some small rubber washers and re install it with the washers in place. Only three bolts actually hold your gas cap to the tank. If that doesn't fix it, give me the bike for the season and I will ride it and fix it!! LOL

I'm having the exact same problem between 4000-5500 rpm. I was told it may be a missing spacer between the plastic and the tank. I haven't yet figured out how I'm going to try to fix it, but I doubt the cap is at fault.

So I decided to try and fix and the problem and almost eliminated the noise completely. What you need to do is take out the two allen bolts at the very front of the tank (the ones just under the triple clamp). Pull up the front of the tank just enough (it will barely lift at all) to slide in two washers, one under each hole. This holds the tank plastic up just high enough that it doesn't touch the tank. It should only take 2 minutes since you don't have to take anything apart to get to it.
