paper is good for whiping your ass with look at the new 1000 rr every mag rants and raves about what a wonderful starter 1l bike it is key word starter for having 46 cc's less i would take the 954 over the 1000 any damn day

That's in comparison to other NEW bikes. Its still way better than the 954, especially the updated '06 model. But the 954 might be better for other reasons, thats why I said the '06 is only better on paper.

I've never heard the 1krr refered to as a "starter" litre bike and my guess is if the two bikes were put in the hands of a experienced rider at a track the 1k would have the lower lap times
