i went to walmart and got Brahma's. they were $20; steel toe, water proof, thick soles, and are surprisingly comfortable. They also have a groove in the arch of the sole, so its awesome for keeping your feet on the pegs, my feet are just the right length to shift perfectly.

I am glad to see that only one person on the board wears something on the bike and at work. Hmmm . Come on.

Check out the ICON standard boot. http://www.metricbikes-superstore.com/index05.php?cPath=184 I bought a pair for that very reason, to ride to work in and wear at work. I use to just were my riding boots and take a pair of shoes to change into. I've only wore the boots once to start breaking them in before the riding season gets here. They are a pretty sturdy book with good protection.

ORIGINAL: no1biscuit I am looking for a boot to ride to work in and then wear it throughout the day. The ones I looked at last night were waterproof and don't breath. So What do you all suggest? Thanks again. Thom it really depends on what type of work you do and the dress attire that you need at work. i ride to work from time-to-time (usually on weekends. no managers to worry about and can get away with much more casual dress.) but i usually plan ahead and keep some decent shoes, pants, and a polo shirt or something in my locker in the fitness center at work. that way i can wear my normal gear and change into appropriate clothing. but, like i said, when i can get away with wearing some riding boots i wear these. click here

I wear jeans everyday and sit on my ass most of the time. So I am more concerned about comfort and something that goes with jeans. That is my requiments. That and they have to look cool, just like me. LOL.

LOL. well, if that's the case, i would get whatever fits your style. the icon workboot style that you linked to would be fine. but you may want to check them out in person first. alot of motorcycle boots are very stiff and could be uncomfortable for walking. if so, i would go with some normal workboots. and i would advise against anything steel-toe. just me but i like to feel the shifter. good luck.

That is my problem. The local shop here does not have one. The honda store that might have one, I refuse to go in there. So I posted here hoping that I could find out comfort from you all.... Thanks for all you info, I really do appreciate it.

Actually I like to wear my Timberlands... but those aren't cheap and I've had a heck of a time getting them clean on some days! Like previously stated, the Brahma's or Texas Steers (K-mart) are decent if you like the work boot look. They're also pretty cheap. I believe they sell them in 6-inch and 8-inch styles as well. However, unless you work construction or your job requires steel toe boots, I would advise you to stay away from steel toes. Maybe it's just me, but I like to be able to feel the gear shift lever and my steel toes don't allow that sense of feel. But that's just my preference...
