Hey There...

Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself...just picked up an '05 Black/Silver 1000RR today...been lurking and learning for a couple of weeks now and you guys and girls seems like a great group here...alot of great information and advice on this board....

A little about myself...I just turned 39 (woww that's old) and was slapped with a major case of mid-life crissis lol....

I've been riding since I was 19 (let's see that's makes 1,2, holy crap 20 yrs). I started out on a Suzuki GS550 and always had a bike of some sort eversince...GS550, FZ600, GPZ750, FZR600 and the last 2 were 98 Kaw Vulcan 1500 Classic..great cruiser but it wasnt for me at the time..I missed the power of the in-line 4 and the sporty ride so I trade that in and got me an '03 Yamaha FZ1. Ever since Thanksgiving when I went to TX and rode my bro-in-law's R1 I've been wanting to get a full super sport bike...not that my Fizzy wasnt a real sportbike...she's plenty fast and handles great in the twisties too...I ride alot with bunch of guys from work in the canyon and always ended up leading or stay right on the tail of their super sexy sportbikes...

I rode the R1 again 2 weeks ago for a whole and found that it was not as comfy as I thought it would be...my belly and the 2 boys were always pressed up against the tank and my wrists were killing me...well...to make a long story longer...after reading and researching,,,I ended up with the 1000RR....much much more comfortable that the R1 but not as good as the Fizzy. I'm sure I'm going love this bike just as much as my Fizzy because I still got this "Perma Grin" on my face and it hurts like hell...lol..
