Hey all im new to the forum, well ive been browsing a lot, but this is my first post. anyway, i just bought a 2002 silver/red f4i with 7k on it.
my question is what should i do maintenance wise to make sure its read for the season? it was in storage since august. should i take it to my local honda dealer and have them check it out for me? how much doe it cost to do that? also the bike was lowered by the previous owner. i already purchased these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4543920170&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT to raise it back up to stock spec. anyway what should i be loking to do maintenace wise to get it ready for the season? or should i just take it to the dealer? im gonna take it to em to have it raised back up...just to be safe...but can i do the other stuff?

i may be biased but i suggested you bring the bike up to normal height. it'll ride a whole lot better. welcome and congrats on your new bike! a once over service wouldnt hurt.

Not sure about Pa, but here in Tx, the service is about 45.00 in labor to look the bike over good, change the oil, check chain slack, etc. Then they add price of oil and other parts they might need.

i just bought this with 8,400 miles. the previous owner LOVED this thing and stored it for the winter. he kept maintenance notes in the manual. i changed the air filter, spark plugs, oil and filter. parts price = $118.32 total time was about 4 1/2 hrs with looking and cleaning; plastics off & on. if you can spare the money, are not comfortable with mechanics, and your able to let your new baby out of your sight, the shop might be o.k.
