Hey I was wondering what you guys thought about this bike here? I have a friend who's willing to sell me his for about $1000. But it needs some work like new fork seals (which he has I just need to install them) And a new rear tire.

I'm a pretty new rider and this will be my first bike i'm buying. What should I look into to make sure it will be a good bike for me to play with until I decide to move up the ladder? Thanks everyone.
