So the sun is finally out here in Germany and I decide to take the bike out for a ride. On the way home I opted to take the Autobahn for a little speed. So as I am shifting through the gears I am pretty close to the rev limiter when I try to go from 4th to 5th and nothing. I slow down and take the next exit, as I am slowing down I can not down shift, now I am thinking WTF!! I live right around the corner so i ride nice and easy home to find I lost one of the two bolts that hold the kickstand and shifter in place. Has this ever happened to anyone else or am I just lucky???

My buddies 03 did the same damn thing and he had to ride home in 3rd gear, make sure you locktite the hell out of it with blue not red and get the original honda bolts to go back in it.

I thought it was gonna be something else. I guess you really did have some luck... coulda been worse. Sucks that it happened, but at least it's an easy fix.

Glad to hear I am not the only poor sap this happened to! I went to Honda and he had never heard of it but GAVE me a new bolt to replace it.

Dont forget the blue locktite, not the red if you use red you wont back the bolt out not a good thing if you ever need to work on it
