The problem with nailing it in first gear is that you are being hard on the tranny when you shift through neutral. Thats where most trans have trouble, from the 1-2 shift at high RPM.

The wheelie thing is kinda obnoxious at times. A kid yelled that to me at a stop sign the other day, and I yelled back "DO A BACKFLIP!"

You can float the front without a problem...  just relax your body and let the bike do its thing.  I wouldn''t wind out 2nd from a stop.

What the front end does depends on how you hit the throttle also.  If you''re in first gear doing a steady ~5k and hit it, the initial torque jolt will be more likely to make the front end come up than say feathering it out from a stop.  When I launch in a drag race, very rarely will the front end come up, unless I let the clutch out too fast.  So it depends what you''re doing.

i have no problem keeping the front end down in first gear on my 600rr and i am geared down, it has around the same power as an f4i so you will be fine launching in first, just stay over the tank and if you do get off the ground ease up alittle.
