So i think the stator is bad on my 93'. i bought a new battery for this season, charged her up threw her in, started on the first try and idled great with the choke on full. Now heres the problem:

if i give it the slightest amount of throttle, it dies
if i turn the choke off a lil bit, it dies.

i let it run for about 5 minutes... still no change?

any ideas guys?

BTW: this is the first time i have started it in about 6 months. stored during winter....
thanks for the thoughts guys...

Do you have a repair manual to troubleshoot? If not, here you go:

F2 Manual

WinZip Extractor

Adobe Reader Download

Good luck!

I ran into the same problem with my F2. The carbs have two different types of jets. The idler jets in my carbs were fine but the other jets were clogged, to fix the problem i took the jets out and got a piece of the smallest string on a guitar. Very carefully i pushed this string through each one of the holes on my jets and cleaned out the float bowls. After doing this i put the bike back together and let it warm up with the choke on for about 5 minutes, after that i turned the choke off and it ran fine. You may not want to try this unless you are pretty handy with engines. Hopefully this will help you out a little bit. If you need more detailed info email me at tmilford34@yahoo.com.

Ditto, your pilot jets are clogged. When you give it gas it tries to run off the mains and chokes it down.As was said you will need something very small to unclog these. They are the smaller jets that you can remove with a flathead.
