Just got my new CBR1000 last Thursday. First Honda in a while. My question is the break in period. Dealer said 4000 RPM the first 500mi then service at 600mi. I can't remember what RPM's are OK after 500mi. But the manual just says no full throttle and nothing about RPM's. What is the correct break-in? I have taken it up to 5000+ for a short while, but most of my milage has been betweem 3000 and 4000.

Yo go about 500 Miles or 800 KM change your oil and filter, dont go above 7-8 ROM during this stage. Change yor oil and filter check your chain and tires etc, then have fun.
