Wussup guys I have an 05 F4i, and I was told by a local guy here in Charlotte that the 600RR's swingarm will fit onto a 04-06 f4i's. Is this true? If so, are there any modifications necessary? Do I have to change wheels, brake lines etc. Has anyone here done this swap?

I did a search and didn't come up with anything on this site, just someone asking the same question without getting any answers.

All answers and information will be greatly appreciated, because I have access to the parts but I don't want to purchase if its not a possible swap. It would also be good to know if any other parts from the 600RR are inter-changable.

Thanks in advance.

there are various tutorials available, not sure if they are on this site or not. google "f4i swingarm conversion" and that should set you up.

i've been looking at this for awhile, and lots of tutorials, trying to gather info. there are some issues and caveats to the conversion, which ultimately made me decide not to do it.

the good part is the cost - you could pick up the parts for under $100 on ebay if you have the time and a little luck.

the bad:

swingarm is 1.5 inches longer
must use 1000rr shock turned 180 degrees
bottom mount uses centerstand mount which isn't as beefy as the rr mount

every account i've read stated they didn't notice an improvement in handling. it may be that this setup is only beneficial in extreme race conditions, or on the f4i it just can't offer any improvement. there's not a lot of feedback that i can find of post-conversion opinions. since it seemed only a few people did it with little or no benefit, i decided to stick with my stock setup.

there's a reason why the F4i was designed to have a shorter swingarm...and the rr a longer swingarm...

Yeah, I don't think you're going to make any gain on this except it'll look different. If it increases the wheel base, you won't be able to turn as fast and throw it around unless you give it much more effort. The corenering stability and weight distribution will definately be thrown off.
