Afternoon,

I was wondering what mileage the timing chain should be replaced at on a 1990 FL model? I don't have access to the maintenance schedules for the bike.

Many thanks,

Kev.

You dont replace it unless it is needing replacement.

Chains are designed to last the life of the engine.

The cam chain tensioner is the achiles heel on the thou - if the chain is quiet, it doesnt need touching.

Cheers!

Thanks for the info, puts my mind at rest :o)

All quiet on the noise front so I guess everything is peachy, just the brake disks, pads and fluid to change out before summer :o)

Thanks,

Kev.
