I believe stock size for 91 f2 is 170/60
I am puttin on 180/55
just wanted to see if anyone else has done this and how it worked out for them
Or if anyone knows anyone who did it ..I am just wondering how the handling changes

stock is a 160/60-17 and a 180 is not reccomended for a F2, the rim is only 4.5" wide and a 180 is designed for a 5.5" rim. If you put a 180 on it will slow down the steering and will pull the sidewalls in so steeply that if you get leaned way over it may just slip out from under you with no warning. Also your inner fender will not allow the tire to fit without rubbing ( unless you remove it)
A 170 rear tire is the maximum size you should use

Yes I did remove the rear fender
have you seen it slip out from others?
The guys at the honda shop told me that alot of guys put 180/55 on the rear...they say they dont reccomend it but many guys do it

i had an f2 and i put a 170 on it. i had no problems with it but i cant see how a 180 could squeeze in there..is it really possible??

the guy before me put a 180/55 on. ill prolly go down to a 170 when i get a new one

sirlimpzalot is dead on--160/60 is stock and a 170/60 should fit fine, but I have never seen an F2 with a 180/55 on it. If you had a later-model F2 with a 5.0" rear wheel, you might have a bit better chance of fitting a 180/55, but to be honest, I can't think of any good reason to do so. The F2 doesn't have anywhere near the power to require a fatter rear tire, and going that wide on a relatively narrow rim will probably negatively affect the bike's handling. And the 180/55 is a heavier tire, which means a bit more inertia to get the bike going, so acceleration might be a tad bit slower too. Stick with a 170/60 and you should be just fine.

When i bought my F2 years ago it had a set of dunlop 207GP on it. 120/70 on the front and 180/55 on the back. The guys are right. way too big. too steep of a profile. I didnt trust that tire at all. I put new tires on it and went to a 120/60 on the front which was a huge improvement in itsself, and i put a 170 on the back. The 170 tire still folds up on the 4.5 inch rim like the 180 does. If i still had an F2 i'd definitely put a 160 on the back. The bike is engineered for those tire sizes. Another alternative is to put the F3 rim on an F2. it is a 5.0 inch rim and will accomidate a 170 tire.
