sup bro! my personal experience wouldtell u to buy shoei or kbc. i own a shoei rf-1000 badge, kbc vr2gunslinger and a kbc force rr airborne2. when it breaks in all of the helmet above felt great and great ventilation as well. go for wha fitsbest and your budget as well. any lid is better than no lid. you knowwwwwwww!

HJC are ok - they got some vent problems tho (like at stop lights in vegas, that take like 3 minutes to change - you can fog up your shield. So i had to open the shield a bit for more vent).. but it's good if you got a tight budget..
Shoei's are awesome, no doubt about it. but bring a saw, because you will be giving an arm and leg for these helmets starting at $200 and ending up at $600!!

But all i can say is stick with a full face one.. half helments might save you from becomming medically disable but you will look like something out of a steven king's movie (did i pull that line off right? haha)

might be the cheapest i seen helmets for.. but keep searching around (also visit your local store to try on helmets before you buy one online)

it should be brand new helmets... it's not like they are re-furbished or something.. it's just some places buy right from the company (which is way it might be so cheap) and others become middle men and buy from a distrubtor and then re-sell it.. then you got your steps of discounts really. The company is like "i want you to sell 300 helmets a year for a 45% discount" - and for smaller companies it's a smaller value - it's just the manfacturer's want to make sure they sell ALL their product out. Or that's how electronics companies work (but it should be the same scenario)

http://www.calsportbike.com/ - they are sponsored advertisors for CBR forums.. even tho you have to call for pricing - just pick out a helment you like, call them up and tell them you saw them on CBR forums and would like a price on "blah blah"

all i'm saying is shop around, most websites have different pirces - and it's just the same product, so you can save $30-40 on a helmet (which could go into golves, or jacket.. whatever) just be really cautious on Ebay and also if it's like a $400 helmet MSRP and someone is selling it for $100 or so - (could be a scam, they might want a wire transfer. It could have been worn and dropped and they are being dishonested. there is alot of things)..

but most E-commercs sites are not scammers or used products - UNLESS they say they are selling re-furbished helmets (which is like me selling re-furbished condoms.. you just dont do it haha)

good luck man
