From talking to others, yes all tank decals are cleared on and you will beable to see a little bit where they were on the tank if you take them off. I had the same questions a few weeks ago. I was going to take off all my decals but I don't like the idea of being able to see where I took the tank decals off. I just left my decals on.

if you do take the tank decals off, you can take the tank cover to the body shop and have them buff it out, then just re-clear it...i had mine repainted all together since i had a scratch on mine

From what i understand dont take my word on this one it was just word of mouth. The 600rr and 1000rr blacks did not have the clear coat over the stickers. Why i say this is I was at the shop where i bought my bike because people were talkin about it i wanted to take my decals off but i cant because of the clear coat and i dont feel like goin through all the hassel or atleast not right now. Good Luck

I have an 06 in Black and the decals on the tank are not clear coated over. I removed all the decals on the bike with a heat gun. They all peeled right off. I then used some goo gone to get rid of the residue. I followed up with a wash and wax, and you cant tell that they were ever on there.

Truckie973, I have the same bike you have. I want to remove the decal on the fairings only. Do you if it can be remove or clear coated over? I still want to keep the decal on the tank cover.

Thanks

i don't think it's clear coated on the RRs cause you really don't have a gas tank like the other bikes, you have a plastic gas tank cover.
no clear coat on the fairings...just on the metal gas tank, which rrs don't have.

just heat it up and peel and use wd40 after to take off the goo...goo gone supposedly eats the clear coat so be careful with that.

don't worry about hurting your baby...SHE LIKES TO BE HURT...she's designed to SCREAM down the road and be all low in the corners so ride her hard...don't worry about scratches on her...scratches are a sign of manghood mang!

My 04 red & black is clearcoated cuz I wanted to remove my decals. So I didn't cuz I thought it would look stooopid with no faring decals but a tank decal.
