This bike has been sitting for 10 months.

New battery and will not start. I looked under the left side fairing and it looks like a rat ate through a spark plug wire. Where can I get this? I called Honda here in Dallas and they want like $70 for them and they have to order them.

Any better ideas?

Any good car racing store should be able to much up a set of leads no problem. I think the CBR's use the leads with a resistor in the cap so they will have to do this as well.

Maybe there is something other causing problems like the killer switch is on, or some small wire has been eaten up. Some missing insulation on a single HT (High Tension/Voltage) wire should not cause the engine to be totally dead. Missing insulation on a HT cable could be fixed by just putting on silicone and electrical tape or shrink tubes, as long as the cables are fresh apart from the rat chewing. Since no one can see the cables they can be repaired as long as it is done properly.

Could be. What is the Killer switch? I am going to take the fairing apart tonight and see if anything else is messed up. I can tell though by flashlight that the silicone is not just missing, the wires in there are pretty bad looking.

I ment the ordinary engine on-off switch which can be forgotten now and then. If the HT wires are trashed they must of course be replaced as you intend.

If you do need parts go to bikebandit.com it will be aobut 1/2 or less what honda wants for them..

The savings is not that much, plus they rape you in the S&H plus it will take a month to get the parts.
Please don't ask me how I know, because the F...ing bastard had me waiting for parts that I could have here in Dallas in a couple of days for a little more.

Red i have never had a problem with them.. hell most of the time the parts are here in two or three days (not that i have needed alot of parts for the bike) speedo pickup (order 2 at a time) and temp switch.
