I think you'll find just about every one will answer 80/7000 (mine's a 2003).

You know tweak, you didn't follow your own rule. What year is your bike?

Just kidding. I'll edit this in a couple of hours and I'll post my exact RPM at 6th gear/80MPH. If you're speedo isn't correct, mine might be a little higher. I'm actually doing 80 when my speedo reads 80, not low 70's any more

I'm back... my 80MPH is at 7400 to 7500 RPM.

What? the only way the RPM would be higher is if you increased the size of the rear sprocket/ decreased the size of the front...ooorrrrr your SPEEDO was way off... wow that sounded weird... Anyway, they're inaccurate as heck so figure with stock gearing around 7 grand is 80.

Factory setup will always have a high speedo reading. That's a lot of miles added to the bike when you start to add it up. The speedo healer is around $90 to $100, varies if you're stupid like me and pay the extra $10 for the extended version. The system uses a push button for part of the setup along with DIP switches on the box itself. The push button is also a top speed recall that you reset by pressing for about 5 to 10 seconds. It's nice to have. I reset it and drive to and from work trying to do a simple keep it legal ride. Can't do it. I'm still hitting at least 90's. The extended version is so you can mount the push button near the key switch. Actually the directions have you zip tying the button around your key switch. I didn't like that and picked up a new button from Radio Shack and did my own setup. You don't need the extended version, ever!!! The box has two screws that tighten to hold the wires in place so you can add your own wire and buy a better button. I mounted mine on the front curve of my tank cover and blended it in.

Here's my setup.
