Once again I turn to the experienced members of this forum who consistantly give great advice. I'm selling my '01 F4i (just got a buyer at a great price). I have been dreaming of a 1000RR all year but when I went to the dealership to sit on one (they had none on the floor) the salesman is tryin to get me on a Hayabusa. He is telling me at my size, 6" 270lbs. that this bike is the way to go and he can get me on it for about $300 more than the RR. After sitting on the Busa, I admit, it was comfy as hell, but I have not sat on a RR so I cannot compare. The Busa seems lower and longer, and it looks like a straight line bike but I question how it handles the mountain twisties of upstate NY (which I flick my F4i through like it's a toy) Can any one tell me how the RR and the Busa match up as far as power, differences in handling, etc.? Any input will greatly help my decision. I know this is a Honda forum, but you guys seem great about fair advice. Thanks- Mike

If you want to go fast in a straight line buy the Busa.

My buddy has (had) a busa... he just t-boned a car a couple of weeks ago. I went riding with him this morning and he rode his wife's GSXR 600. He said he'd never had so much fun in the twisties before. He could ride the busa in the twisties, but he said on a bike like the GSXR 600, it was just so much more fun.

I road a busa before I got the CBR. It was fast, but so is the CBR. The busa was heaver, longer and the exhaust was right in the way for tight turns. The CBR is sooooo much more fun! How much faster is the busa then the CBR 1K anyway.

My bud has been riding a Busa for a few years now and just bought a GSXR 1K.... Kinda feeling stupid now since he's found the true meaning of riding for most... Twist turn and burn. Besides, the Kwaka ZX-14 will be taking (or has taken already) the Busa's place in straight line performance out of the box running under 10 sec 1/4 miles runs so Suzuki better hit their think tanks up again...

Busa and bikes like it are point and shoot fast, but are just alot of work to get things working in another direction. I'm 6'00'' 230lbs and the Honda 1K makes me grin like an idiot.... straight, left, right, etc.

just my 2 cents worth,
i ride with a lot of different bikes busas included. the busa when first came out was the fastest production bike made but now i was talking to some that have them and like most liter bikes are limited through gearing and electronis at 186 m.p.h. if you look at a busa you will quickley see it is longer it is heaver it is wider so pound for pound the 1000rr is a mush better bike. i no it has been said before on this site but the refinments that was made on the 2006 1000rr made this bike one of the best bikes on the market. i rode mine for 172 miles over the week end not one stumble or ant thing upset the bike. i can lay off the side in a CORNER WITH THE YOUNG GENTLEMAN AND IT MAKES ME LOOK GOOD NOT THAT I AM BUT THE BIKE DOES IT ALL THAT WELL. IF I WERE YOU BUT IAM NOT THE RR WOULD BE MY CHOICE I CAN ONLY TELL YOU HOW GREAT IT TRULY IS.
