EASY BUY SOME GOOD STRONG PAINT THINNER LIKE THE ONE I GOT WORKED REAL GOOD
BUT DONT USE THE SPRAYER JUST GET A LITTLE CONTAINER AND POUR SOME IN AND USE A LITTLE PAINT BRUSH TO APPLY IT

"Dad's EASY SPRAY"
*professional strength Paint,Stain & Varnish Remover*
~water or solvent wash off

all you do is tape the area you dont wanna rip paint from(MAKE SURE YOU TAPE IT REAL GOOD)

APPLY THE PAINT THINNER AND WAIT LIKE 5-10 MINS YOULL SEE THE PAINT BUBBLE USE A WIRE BRUSH TO TAKE THE PAINT OFF ...DO NOT SCRUB LEFT TO RIGHT MEANING (WIDTH) OF WHEEL........ SCRUB FRONT AND BACK (LENGTH) ON THE RIM OR YOULL SCRATCH IT

NEXT YOU USE A RAG AND WIPE EXCESS

AND DO THIS SAME THING UNTILL ALL THE PAINT IS OFF

WASH RIM WITH WATER AND DRY IT OFF WITH A RAG

NEXT TAKE A POLISH I USED THIS STUFF I USE ON EVERYTHING CHEAP AND VERY VERY GOOD ITS CALLED **LONG HAUL TRUCK METAL POLISH** TRUST ME THIS STUFF SHINES LIKE YOU WOULDNT BELIEVE AND ITS CHEAP THE GUYS AT PEP BOYS PUT ME UP ON THAT BETTER THAN MOTHERS AND MEGUIERS I TRIED AND TESTED

APPLy POLISH AND RUB TILL IT TURNS BLACK THEN AND KEEP WIPEIN NON STOP IT WILL DISSAPEAR AND LEAVE A MIRROR LIKE LOOK TO THE RIM TAKES ABOUT 45MINS AND THATS CAUSE OF THE TAPE TAKES A WHILE TO GET IT ON THERE JUST PERFECT

THIS IS A PIC OF WHAT I USED

Looks Good! I did the same thing to mine back in February. Love the look.

Funnyguy -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (12/30/2006 9:12:30 PM)

one question.. Do you have to take the wheels off.. or can you do it without taking it off.. thanks

mdfirefighter -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (12/30/2006 9:25:02 PM)

RCKT GRL -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (12/31/2006 12:07:46 PM)

No, you don't have to take the wheels off, but it does make it easier in my opinion.

AnthonyTxL -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (1/4/2007 11:44:19 AM)

This is definitely on my to-do list...say...next week!

I was hesitant since mine is all black too, but now after seeing yours I'm set.  That finish is incredible.

AnthonyTxL -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (1/11/2007 12:55:57 AM)

Did anyone else happen to look for the Long Haul Polish?  I checked Pepboys like crxtrixxx mentioned but couldn't find it in the store.

kcinobro -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (1/11/2007 10:12:30 PM)

If you go to autozone or advance, Look for Airplane Cleaner.  I works just fine.

BB -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (1/12/2007 8:58:00 AM)

Is the polish something that you have to reapply from time to time, or is it like paint and you only have to do it once?

tmagness -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (1/12/2007 10:53:47 PM)

I saw this post a few days ago and some though into trying it out..  so today i stopped by the store and picked up everything i needed..  I was pretty excited to get started, so i tested it out on a small section of the rim..  and to my surprise it was very easy to do..  so here i am done w/ the right side of the front and back and i must say that it looks pretty bad ass..  its not all that hard either..  i taped & sprayed the back wheel and while i was waiting for the time to pass i started working on the front wheel..  thanks for sharing your idea

danny600rr -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (1/14/2007 2:59:19 PM)

bike looks awesome... are those flat black lowers? i just got mine in i like the look... quick question about the polishing... do you need to sand with sand paper?

AnthonyTxL -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (1/14/2007 5:56:24 PM)

Sanding is not necessary I don't believe.

I'm still in the middle of polishing mine, but the freezing weather is making the finish difficult to come off.  Waiting for it to warm up!

jeh2324 -> RE: POLISHING RIMS (1/30/2007 8:21:31 PM)

Would this work for the swing arm?  Mine has some nasty stains from battery acid (previous owner).
