I was wondering if anyone has heard of converting a f4i tail to a 600rr tail? I love the f4i, but really like the look of the 600rr. Please help, Thanks.....

first off... welcome to the forum!

hmm... i've never seen that conversion before but that doesn't mean it hasn't been done. that would look interesting though.

dont think its possible without alot of fab work. First off you would have to change the swingarm to a RR swingarm. The stock exhaust set-up on a f4i cannot bend up and around the stock swingarm. the RR exahust bends up just before the swingarm allowing the exhaust to contour to the shape of the undertail. I guess its possible to leave the stock exhaust but just using the RR tail. But then again i dont believe its a perfect match up.

Although, it would look bad ass to have a F4i front end and a RR rear end, That would be one sweet ass bike.

click this link to see a little bit of a F4i with a RR tail. I just did it quick so the colors dont match up.

I know, its the best of both worlds for me. I dont really like the RR headlights but the rear is sweet but I think the F4i rear is too bulky. Both of them together would make one sick ass bike.

Just look at every other tail conversion that has been done, regardless of the bike. It might be a bit more difficult if you intend to still use the seat for passengers, but it's still a pretty straightforward process. Make a new subframe.

As for the exhaust, I'd have to see some pictures of the F4i where the swingarm mounts. Possibly go before the mount, or wedge it in next to the shock. Or just go the easier route and go AROUND the outside of the swingarm like the undertail exhaust kits Wolf (Wolff, Wolfffffff, whatever) used to sell, then back underneath the subframe again. Just need a fabricator or some some bends & a welder if you're doing it yourself.

The problem with that idea is the way they set up the suspension mounting points to the frame. Would cost a lot of money to convert.

This has been said before....

Then why didn't you buy the 600RR to begin with???

It's only $500 more. You'd spend more than that to do the conversion (correctly)

If this was said before, then I'm sorry but I'm new to the forum, and the bike was purchased in 02 now let me ask you this. Did Honda make a 2002 600rr and if they didn't, That's probably why I didn't pay the extra $500. Thanks

My bad man

I thought you had a newer (2005 or 2006) F4i with the banana seat

SOOOOO many people complain about the banana seat on the (2004+) F4is......it's like.....if you bought the bike new....why didn't you just get the RR for $500 if you hate the banana seat??
Just doesn't make sense

And everyone is always asking how to convert to the 2 seat style instead of the banana seat

That's a photo shop photo. It does look pretty cool with the tail and swing arm but I would rather see a "real" pic of that conversion!
