Might be a completly retarded question but... i JUST bought a 99 cbr. Looks PERDY! I got some pics for you also =) anyways! the key on and stuff without the bike running just kinda sittin there. I put the highbeams on and they went on nice and strong. When i went to turn them off to have just the lowbeams they went off completly. Now, this may be one of those retarded questions since i havent even rode the bike yet and its 10 at night BUT, is there something wrong or will the light not go on unless the bike is on and moving. Yes i tried starting the bike and putting the regular headlights on also. Any suggestions?!

Woohoo!!!! new CBR on the road! Sorry about the pictures, i just got it and its dark out, lighting in my garge isnt the best, ill get a video clip with some images up within the next day or so :D

Video of the bike!! wooohooo

Paint those wheels white. Trust me, that color scheme looks AMAZING with white wheels. Great googly moogly.

NOW, back to your question. If the key is set to on, the bike will have all the normal power and functions it would if it were running. If the high beams work but the low beams do not, there is a problem. I would check the switch, bulbs, and wiring. Someone might have put the wrong bulbs in, and now they only run on one power setting. Or your switch might have gunk in it. Or the wires are messed.

And congratulations on the bike. These things are badass and they're EXTREMELY easy to mod.

Looks and sounds good. I allways wondered if all 900s had the uneven idle but yours sure is idleing at 2 grand! Unless the choke is on it should be around 1100 - 1300

choke is off and its idling at 1500 ill lower it a bit. Its weird because its a choppy idle but the rpm's are solid as a rock. i love it! haha heres another Video2

Synchronize the carbs and it'll idle silky smooth.

I found the problem with the switch, i found if i put the highbeams on and pressed the lowbeams the switch doesnt work and i'll have no lights, but if i kinda flick it to lowbeams they go on with no problem. guess i need to be a little more gental with her
