Anyone happen to know where the signal relay is located on the 2006 1000RR? I'm getting mixed information. Some say it's on the left side under the mid fairing, others say it's integrated into the circuit board and cant be modified. Any help is appreciated.

This is from another forum, in response to my question about the same thing:
=====
hey guys,

I received a question about the 2006 flasher location and replacement issue and figured rather the answer to question in a PM I will share for anyone who might use the search engine. When I searched, I found nothing on the '06 and they are very different...

"Hi! Did you say the 2006 1000RR has a flasher relay that can be replaced? My buddy just got an '06 and was told its relay was integrated into other electronics?"

The answer is that the '06 flasher is not between the headlights; it is located under the left upper fairing. It is very easy to get to and I installed the "Flash-it" relay (was in stock at my local shop (Cycle Gear)) for about $20.00 When you install it dont worry about attaching it because the mounting system is different so I just left the original relay in place and slid the tab (that has the whole for a screw) on the "Flash-it" relay under the rubber band on the original relay. It is a nice clean installation and can be removed very easily if you have a reason to do so. It has a factory plug and will take you less than 15 min. for the whole job.

Hope that helps...

ha swang,
dont mean to disagree with you but the signal relay is between the headlights on a 2006 just pulled mine apart to find it. i have a service manual for a 2005 on cd unless they are all different i had to pull the middle fairing and the head light fairing on mine i ordered the flasher relay from custom dynamics and the 2006 is intergreated into the eletronics . i will have to order the load realy to install on the 2006 to correct the blink rate on my bike.

The headlight relay (to switch between high and low beams) is almost always between the headlight, regardless of model year.

Are we sure we are all talking about the 2006 models in regards to the flasher relay?

gentleman,
all i can say is that i removed the upper cowl pulled the head light and their was the turn signal relay. i also searched the manual and the head light relay is under the left fairing. dont no puzzled myself. i do no that my relay is a 3 wire relay not a 2 wire. buy the way the people i purchased the relay from said that some makes of hondas that th 2 wire would not work. i will have to buy the load limiter

We are talking about the turn signal relay. Had to replace to slow the blink rate down after I purcashed the brake/turn integrator and front flush mounts. It is located on the left side middle. I replaced it and the blinkers are back to normal DOT blink rate. If it wasn't the turn signal relay then I got pretty lucky.
