I have the 2000 orange and black f4 and I was wondering if anyone knows a good place where to start looking around for an under tail? I was just doing some homework on them and I can't seem to find what I’m looking for online. I was also wondering about what options I have for tail lights and turn signals. incandescent bulbs? LED's. If changed to LED's is there a conversion kit? I just started looking up on the under tail subject and any help would be great.

Try www.pimpbike.com
They have undertails with led taillights and signals, or just the undertail.

Here's one, and the seller is very good. Others on here have bought from them.

let me know what you go with, I have the same color scheme as you and would like to know what you decide.

Thanks,

Wow, that Mototeck one looks great, but is pricey. The pics from their website make my bikes color cheme look awesome. I see it relocates the key hole for the seat and does away with the black box that is trunk space, though... it looks like a lot of cutting? I'd be interested on how long it takes to install, no way it just bolts over the existing underwork.

Do all these undertails take out the storage space? THat is the perfect spot for a few items...

I just installed the one on here posted off of Ebay on my 99 red f4.

took about 3-4 hours, you have to cut the crap out of the black fender, a dremel tool would be ideal, but I only had a hacksaw and a set of tin snips at my girlfriends house, so I made due. I also had to do some pretty good sanding on the rear edges of it as it was just a bit oversized, but I didn't mind that much because now it is a tight custom fit. The color is close but it doesn't match exactly. I love the look of it on the bike, the most disappointing part about it is the difference between the running tail light and the brake light isn't very obvious, so I've heard it's hard to tell if I'm braking so I'm adding a set of 3 leds in the back of my passenger pegs that will only light when I hit the brakes to grab some attention. Here's a pic of it at this point, I'm adding the LED's tonight

I had my done by a pro , took him about 2 hours and yeah a bunch of cutting
but I like my bike too much to have "tried it" on my own

yes the keyhole is relocated and you don't lose too much space in the tail section but as with any undertail (aftermarket) you will lose a bit but I still have my gloves, insurance paperwork, and a u-lock. all mounted in there just fine, so it'll still hold what you need.

Good luck and enjoy, MOTOTECK! FOREVER~!
