Hello, I'm considering purchasing a 06 F4i and I'm curious how many riders on this website are around my age. I'm 32 and have ridden sport bikes since high school. My first bike was an 1998 600 Katana, then 92 600 F2, 96 GSXR-750, then 98 900RR. I haven't ridden since 2001 and am looking to buy a bike mainly as a commuter to and from work as my truck only gets around 13mpg in the city. I've done everything possible to convince myself to get a Harley, as that's what all of my friends have, but Harleys just aren't my style and I'm not one who does something just because others do which is why I want to get a sport bike. I picked the F4i because of its riding position and position of the foot pegs and handle bars. I'm 6'2 and I don't feel all that comfortable all crouched over on an RR. My 92 600F2 what my most favorite sportbike as it was fast, comfortable, and handled extremely well which takes me to the 06 600 F4i. Having said that, would you guys refer to me as "Grandpa" if you saw me driving down the street on an F4i? I'm sure I just opened myself up for plenty of smarta*s comments from my previous question! Thanks in advance for the replies.

Get the Sport bike. I'm 37 years old and I don't see myself riding anythiing else but a sports bike. I currently ride a CBR 600rr.

What are you worried about? I have a friend that in his mid-40's and racing a CBR on a track against his son. I've tried Harley once, and said never again. They are too heavy, too weak, and if you lean it two inches to the side, you're already scraping the pegs. How boring. on a

Don't worry-you are not too old. I turn 42 next month and just cannot get into the cruiser thing-tried it but just did not feel nimble enough to get out of trouble situations. Good luck.

I'm 47. Tried the 600RR and the F4i in December and got the F4i because of the more favorable riding position. Put 2,000 miles on it during the winter and then got the bug for the 1000RR, so I recently upgraded. Go for it, you won't regret it and you certainly aren't too old -- it'll keep you young.
