Gas mileage steadily dropping. Must lay off the throttle.

well, only had mine two weeks.

Cbr1000fr (94 for the unknowing), did a higway trip for three hours as soon as i picked it up, and scoring 17kmpl.

Biggest most powerful bike i have ever owned, and also the leanest runner by the sounds of it

(no hard riding there, was still getting used to the baby).
Have owned an 87 before, a Suzuki XN85 Turbo, and a couple of others.

Hi group,

I felt left out so I had to post. Going on a nice ride for mileage, I can get 46 miles per gallon. When I'm into it, I get about 37. I have taken it right until it starts spitting and sputtering then I flip over to the reserve. This happens at about 181 miles when I switch to reserve. Then I know I can go at least another 30 miles.

With the mods I now have on it, I have sacrificed about 30 miles to a tank full, before I have to switch to reserve. This is about 36 miles per gallon. When I'm really getting on it and twisting the throttle off, I get about 140 miles to a tank full.

But, ya know what? I didn't buy it for gas mileage.
