I was riding last night and my 05 600RR did not want to go into first gear a couple of times... at one point it did not want to shift below third. I had to roll it off to the side of the road and play with it for a couple of minutes before I could get it to go down to first gear... and sometimes first gear feels a little notchy. Has anyone had any problems with the transmissions in these bikes? It only has about 400 miles on it, so maybe the gears just haven't become well acquainted yet (kidding). frankly, I bought a honda because they don't break or have weird gremlins, this is not making me too happy (hell if I wanted a mystical first gear I would have bought an Italian bike!).

Anybody have any suggestions?

It only happened twice during a 35 mile ride in heavy traffice, so I doubt that it is bad enough that they would find it at the dealer. If nothing else I'll just ride it some more today and see if it gets worse.

I don't think that's normal at all. My '04 1000RR shifts sweet as buddah. Even though it's a pain I'd recommend taking it to the dealer so at least you have a record of the problem.

Use the clutch from 1st to 2nd and while downshifting. Other than that you can dry shift all the way up ;)

j/k.... Sounds like you should take it back to the dealerSHIT and see what they say, and dont let them give you that "oh thats normal blah blah blah BULLSHIT!!!" They did that with my bike, and I became friends with the service guys at our dealership and they said its not normal... so warranty is takin care of it :D... you got waranty on it right??

well, I adjusted the clutch out a bit and rode it some more and it seems to be ok... maybe the clutch just wasn't adjusted properly... I'll ride some more and report again... thanks for your help
