Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I'm new to the CBR scene.
I did search this forum, but I couldn't find the answer(s) I was looking for.

Basically, I got my hands on a 1993 CBR600 with a blown engine and I'm looking for a replacement.
Will the F3 engine bolt right up and if not, what mods are required?
I've got a line on an F3 engine only - do I need any F3 electronics to make this work or will my F2 stuff work with or without modification.

Again, sorry if this is common knowledge if someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

I think it's very possible but I dont know the exact way to do it-- I think others have done this before

I'm guessing it may not bolt right in, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the response.
I should mention that getting the engine to fit isn't my biggest concern, I'm fine with hackin'/welding whatever it takes to make it fit.
My concern is the electronics - do I need stuff from the F3 or can I make the F2 stuff work?

the only thing that the motor is going to have is the electronic speed sensor. everything is the same, bolts right up.
i should know i swap motors with a 97 then over the years swapped everything else to a 97-98 body style and wire harness for all the toys that a f3 has and not a f2.originally its a 94 f2.

LY,
I PM'd you back.

rafo,
Do I need the electronic speed sensor, or do I just do without it?
If I do need it, how do I hook it up?
What's the sensor do?

Thanks for the help,

-Fran

well your using your original cluster so just leave cut off. your mph gauge comes from the front rim (speedo cable) . when u want to upgrade your cluster (meter) you will need to change your wire harness to a f3, any year for the electric speed sensor to work...and all the other parts to upgrade....
