I'm new to the cbr world, I ride a 05 gsxr 750 ( 6k on the odo) . I'm thinking of picking up a 05 repsol , but It has 10k on the odo. Is that too much for a Bike. If not , what things should I look out for around that mileage?

It depends, what year is the Repsol and how much are they asking for it? It's a Honda, so I wouldn't be worried about miles. But if a bike has a lot of miles you don't want to pay too much.

it all comes down to the condition of the bike IMO. if the bike was not abused and has been properly maintained, even though it has 10k miles, it would be a better bike than an abused/neglected one with 1/3 the miles. my first bike i bought was a '87 kawasaki ZX750R with 35K miles on it. i bought it from an owner who took meticulous care of it. i ran it for another 20K then sold it to a friend and he ran it for another 15K and sold it to someone who eventually wrecked it at 90k. the bike had the same professional mechanic from new with every owner taking great care of it. having said that, this spring i was looking for a used RC51 or a 1000RR. nothing that i saw met my standards so i bought a new 2006 1000rr. GREAT BIKE!!!!!

It's an 05, and the current owner is a motorcycle mechanic. he takes really good care of the bikes he keeps. and hardly rides... Well with the exception of that one ;). but who would'nt its a beautiful bike.

sounds like it should be a go for you. i bought a 97 honda cbr900RR new and put 21000 miles on it in 2 seasons. i just had it tuned up a few times (plus my regular cleaning/lubing the chain etc) and just changed the oil and tires (i use the the same mechanic as with the above kawasaki)....nothing else was needed period. a well taken care of honda will last a long time for sure.

Thanks Jer, sounds good. I'm going to test ride the bike this week, and he's replacing the rims for me. I heard that the rims have color issues, and he's getting me a better set.

That's one of the good things with Honda motorcycles: They age pretty good, compared to other brands. That being said, the Repsol has to be a 2005, as it is the only model year they made it. Have a mechanical inspection made. It is worth to pay a couple of bucks to make sure what you buy is in a good shape! And enjoy the ride! Pat
