I bought some new lube for my chain yesterday and I got a big diatribe from the shop on Wax vs. Lube. I normally use my buddies and he has wax. I went in and asked for was but left with lube. What do you all use?

I hope you lube your chain after you use that WD-40 because it's not really a lube...it's a cleaner...

I use Honda spray lube...

My brother uses wax cause its not so messy. My buddy has an SV that he uses lube and has got so far 25k miles out of the chain. He had used wax before and his chain was short lived. Personally I use lube. I'd rather keep my chain for a while.

I prefer wax,
A) Not as messy, does not get slung all over the place
B) Dirt sticks to lube and WD-$0 in a bad way and once wax dries about nothing will stick to it.

I am not a professional mechinic though!

Bacon grease would smell better on those warm days

I'm not a fan of wax. I use lube. I doesn't seem like the wax penetrates into all the little nooks and crannies like lube does.

Make sure the chain is warm and the lube will soak right in...I'm sure it works the same with wax...

the two cans in my garage right now are pj1 lube and maxima wax. but i don't think it really matters whether you use wax or lube. what matters is that you use one or the other and clean your chain regularly.
