I have read that the 94 F2 has 100 hp and will do the quarter mile in 11.5. Is all of this accurate? I understand it is only a 600 but 100 hp sounds pretty potent for a 94' 600. So for a scale somebody compare this bike to a 01-03 Gsxr 600 for me because I've ridden my friends and it screws as far as I am concerned. So will this bike keep up with a gsxr 600? Any more opinions before I buy this bike, appreciated!

Ive learned its not how much but how well u handle 100 horsepower. If ya want speed get 4 wheels and do us all a favor and stay alive ...i mean not to sound like a (*^^&*( but if all u want to do is go faster than your buddies GSXR and not really have any regard for your personal safety or those around you by all means keep us all safe and save your money. Its not about going fast..its about riding safe and within your limits...and take a course...if it helps...sorry if i over stepped on this one but im sure the rest of you are with me on this...thats my opinion...and besides no GSXR should ever pass a Honda...EVER...LOL..

Ok you got the safety lesson and I give a +1 on that, but to answer your question if both bikes and both riders are perfect the newer gsxr will beat the honda but that has alot to do with the new mods on the bike...equal years and its honda all the way, but you should have no problem keeping up with your buddy....

I ride an '92 F2. and its perfect for a first bike in my opinion, really good balance, and steering feel..and the 80-90 hp at the rear wheel is pretty great for a 92 if u ask me! get it and be safe

I've got a 94 F2 and it was dyno'd at ~85HP with a Yosh full exhaust. Not quite 100, but it's got plenty of horses, especially if you're just starting out. At a track day I was able to keep pace with a guy on an RC51. He'd gain 30-40 yards on me going down the front straight, but I'd catch him in turn 1. Point is, focus on developing your riding skills and you'll be able to keep pace with people on faster bikes that don't know how to ride well.

A stock '94 CBR F2 should bring about 83 horses on the rear wheel or something very close to that. I recently traded in an F2 for a '05 CBR 600RR which has 106hp out of the crate. I can tell the difference but having a fuel-injected bike vs. the old carbed bike helps a little. Still, the mid-range on my former F2 was something to behold...
