It's official, I just flew 1,200km to pick up my 95 model and rode it 350km back this afternoon. I finish the journey tomorrow (850km) ready to start back at work wednesday

Sooooo missed riding this last 5 months!

Once I get it back home, i'll change the oil, replace the coolant and bleed the brakes just to make sure everything is as it should be.

It hasn't miss a beat and there were no less than 12 constables to make sure I stayed within the speed limit most of the way!

Well anyways, I very happy with the purchase and don't know how I survied all those years with less than 1000cc!

Found the clutch was much heavier than my previous bike, but I guess that just means I need to grow bigger hand muscles.

A couple of times I thought I could smell that smell that you smell when letting air out of tyres so I'm going down to the shed now to check the pressures... after I've searched for a recommendation on the "right" pressures to be running.

Well anyways, I'll update with photos and such tomorrow night...

Mine's the 1990 F-L model, running a 120 on the front and the standard 170 on the rear, it runs at 36psi for the front and 42psi on the back, hope that helps, and all the best with the new ride.

Cheers,

Kev.

Sounds good, I guess I'll match my pressures to that then.

It didn't miss a beat the whole trip but the clutch was heavier than I remember my last bike being and my hand is still feeling the cramps 15 hours later!

The speedo started twitching intermittenly and then dropped off and indicated I was doing no more than 80km no matter what speed I was doing so I just rode at 4,000rpm which is about 100km from memory for the rest of the trip. The trip meter and odeometer kept working so I'll have to track down what went wrong.

But yeah, silly grin from ear to ear!

NICE BIKE

the only speedo problems I have is that in the cold mornings it's totally inaccurate, it's kinda gummy i think, sometimes I'm doing 5000 RPM in 5th and it's reading 70 KPH (totally wrong, should be like 100), then I slow down for a stop light and it is still reading 70, for a second or two before it falls back down.. nothing some WD40 can't cure I'm sure, I just don't want to mess with the instrument panel

Trangle; have tuo sorted your speedo problem ?

If you haven't, the problem might be that the little plastic thing that is attached to the bolt that secures the front sprocket, which is running the speedocable, is worn down.

It's not dificult to replace, so don't worry

that was a suprise to see this old post back up... yeah, the speedo is fixed now... just in time to see the speed you that allows a wallaby to be absolutely exploded when it runs in fron of a Kwakka Ninja.

It was the plastic thing... $7.80 imported from Japan and took 2 weeks to arrive.

Then it's just to get out there and eat some km then :-)

Very nice bike BTW. Nice colours!

All you need now is a couple of proper loudspeakers instead of that original exhaust system...
