I don't care what exhaust I put on my bike, it is not going to make me a better rider.

actually you are wrong, (well maybe not make you a better rider) but first of all a good pipe (even a slip on) will give 10+hp easy which on a bike will be noticed unless the rider is so out of tune with his bike that he has no idea what is going on.

second a lightweight titanium pipe will shave a lot of weight off the bike requiring less input to make the bike turn. so if you are used to putting X amount of force onto the clip ons to make it turn, it will now require a  less input making the bike turn in faster.  plus those extra horses can be used to tighten your line up coming off an apex with the same amount of throttle input.

Unless you plan on racing the bike I would not bother with the Bandwidth commander. In fact if your going to race it stay away form the Hotbodies undertail exhaust.

right there baxsom - dont know if you saw it or not..

Baxsom- I have always respected your advice on these forums, but I am not aware of any slip-on that will gain 10+hp "easy" on a 1krr. Please prove me wrong and I will offer you my sincerest apologies. However, I can see your point on the weight difference.

what is the difference between the two?  How is the wide band better than the power commander?

my arata slip on gained 10hp over the baseline
(i can try to find the old dyno charts but they are already posted on 1000rr.net)
go to www.hooliganbiketech.net
the arata section there shows a before and after dyno chart. bone stock, then another for arata slip on, bmc race filters and custom map netted a 14hp difference.
resus from 1000rr.net with just bmc filters and a sato slip on went from 150 to 161

and god i should have checked the dates but i just cant resist when i see the new thread color when i pull the forum in

oh and its wideband commander
the wideband is better because it uses a wideband air fuel gauge built into the exhaust system to record actual street riding air fuel ratio
you can start the datalog
do a run to redline in as many gears as you feel comfortable
and then hook up to the laptop and see the air fuel at each throttle position and rpm

it allows you to street tune

the hooligan bike tech page guy dynod after every mod to show the performance gain

flapper mod 2hp
bmc filters 2hp
arata with custom map 10hp so 14 total

and of course i put in a pc3 what kind of moron spends hundreds of dollars on a top end pipe and doesnt tune it correctly

Unfortunately, I've read & heard nothing but bad things about these undertail kits...I really like their flush turn signals though...

I love the look.   The heat can be taken care of with heat coating, pipe wrapping, shielding with the kit and oem if possible, then adding some noise/heat shield damping material. The thing that's making me not want is would be the noise. I would have to hear it in person but from all the searches and reading, it's freekin loud. Too loud gets you too many speeding tickets.
