OK. Now that I've decided what bike to get, I need insurance! I have gotten four quotes so far. Unbelievably, they range from highest $3,200.00 to the lowest of $1,850.00 a year! What the F@#%. Is this normal!? When I asked these insurance companies 'why so much' I got, it's considered a high-performance bike, that's why. High-performance or not, I have read around where other CBR owners are getting full coverage for between $500 and $800 a year. What is the deal with insurance? Where should I look? Any secrets I don't know about? Good (cheap) companies? PLEASE someone HELP me...lead me to the right place!

+1 Statefarm. If you have your car with them first its cheaper on your bike. But not the other way around. and you have to be 25.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for the redundant question, after some searching on other threads I found the answers I was looking for. Thanks again!

Hello & Welcome!!

I've got Rider and for my 2004 F4i, I pay just under $1K per year for full coverage.

The rates depend on your driving record in general and how long you've been licensed for a motorcycle as well as the year and engine size. Anything above 750 gets pricey in general. My 04 GSXR 600 runs me about $360 year for full coverage including uninsured motorist, etc. My new 06 CBR 1000 is going to run me $660 a year for the same coverages, you can see there is quite a jump there. I don't consider these rates bad seeing as how I'm in a heavily populated area of California.

$275 full coverage 954 State Farm. Now that I have to change to SC insurance it will go all the way up to $490 because SC drivers suck I guess.
