I ordered the float needles a few days ago, they cost around 35 bucks shipped. now im just waiting on them to get here.....

i got the float needles and put them in. it still runs bad. the bike seems like its not getting any gas. It idles fine but as soon as i rotate the throttle it dies and i have to let of the throttle to keep it running. what is wrong with this thing????

I bought a good used fuel pump off of a '95 900rr, im going to put that on and see what happens. i need to get this thing running asap because gas is $3 a gallon and my trans am loves to drink it.

I’ve been reading thru this thread and I think you guys are beating around the bush. From what I can see, you’ve already tried everything that’s carb related including changing the carbs (which means you were changing the needles aswell, because it was another set of carbs that were working on you’re friends bike so I don’t think its you’re carbs) and U were already swapping the CDI with the one on you’re friends bike that was working.
I’d suggest before spending anymore money on the bike. Check that you’re fuel pump is pumping petrol. Strip of you’re airbox and breather pipes put back the tank and drive with it.
If it still doesn’t work it’s not you’re carbs. Check that all you’re plugs have fire. If they are try swapping you’re clocks with you’re friends ones.(It could be you’re rev limiter malfunctioning) I’m not sure where it’s located on these bikes. It could be part of the ignition system or it could be in the clocks but since you were already swapping the CDI you could try the clocks.

If this doesn’t solve you’re problem… It could be a leaky valve or valve timing. Check you’re compression on all 4 cylinders. It doesn’t help to just replace parts. It’s very expensive and it doesn’t solve the problem. (As U should have realized by now)

PS. By all means this is only my opinion and advice. Take it or leave it.

what about main jets??? and needles (not floating)???
what about carb calibration and sincronization???
any body done it?

...Alen did you check fuel filter?
and did you installed a new fuel pump? what result do you have for right now?

What would cause the needles not to float?? Mine (F2/3) is doing somthin very similar to what GreaseMonkey83 described, but i'm missing alotta lines and shit... I took theairbox off, when I rev on it I can see the [slides?] 'flutter

Hey! i just solved the same problem in my bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you know what it whas????

AIR FILTER!!!!!! NOT ENAF AIR!!!!!!

i thinking that my air filter if pretty clean and it looks like it clean but it was not!!!
i remove it and just for a moment put sponge filter...
my bike runs like a hell after this!
before i comeplitly clean my carb... and start thinking about sincronization!

so let's chek your air filter and eaven try to run without it (dont forget to put some filter marerials in air duckt)
and i belive your bike will feel much better!
